MEDICAL staff around Banburyshire have been dealing with an increased number of casualties in the summer heatwave.

One person has been admitted to the Horton Hospital suffering from heat exasperation and many more have received treatment from paramedics.

"We have been very, very busy and have certainly experienced an increase in calls," said Helen Robinson of South Central Ambulance Service. "We don't usually expect to see a rise at this time of year.

"The problems are mainly down to people being out in the sun too ...
